Executive Director, Communications

David brings a wealth of experience with some of the biggest technology brands in Australia.

He led the Microsoft account at Ogilvy PR, and has led numerous multi-channel, multi-discipline strategic communications for organisations such as Salesforce, Lenovo, Twitter, Block, CrowdStrike, NBN Co, and Xero.

He pairs deep tech sector knowledge with broad expertise across the full spectrum of communications - corporate and consumer; earned, owned, and paid; government relations; digital; and issues and crisis management.

Strategy and Campaign Director

Mat has 15+ years of experience working in multinational advertising and communications agencies and is a specialist in behaviour change communications. Over the last 5 years, Mat has developed strategic communications campaigns across key social issues that affect individuals and the broader community, including violent extremism, mis/disinformation, gender equality, aged care, mental health, suicide prevention, food waste, single-use plastics, water conservation and industry superannuation - to name but a few.

Mat is also an expert in addiction, problem gambling and harm reduction.

Executive Creative Director

Michael has spent over 25 years in the advertising and media industry working across the most recognised products and brands in the world. He joined Icon in early 2023 where he leads the Creative Team.

Working across all disciplines and departments, Michael's role is to elevate the work, create effective campaigns that live in all channels, and mentor key and emerging talent.

Michael was previously Chief Creative Officer of Grey Group Australia and Chief Creative Officer, Grey Group China. Under Michael's leadership, the agency twice won Best in Show at the Region's most prestigious advertising award show.

Shannon O'Neill

Director of Digital and Social Media

Shannon joined Icon Agency in late 2022 from Dubai, where she spent four years at Seven Media working across their social media, influencer and digital advertising accounts. Her responsibilities included leading integrated social and digital strategy and overseeing all social and digital account activity.

She specialises in multi-channel digital and social media programs and has extensive experience leading integrated influencer marketing programs for clients including Frontline Heroes Office, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, Ataya, Aviv Clinics, and RAK Half Marathon.

She has led the execution of multi-channel social media campaigns for UAE and global brands including Marriott International, Manchester City, McGettigan's Group, Cinépolis Cinema, 99 Sushi Bar and Hyatt Hotels.
