National Capital Authority website design and development

The National Capital Authority (NCA) appointed Icon Agency with the design and development of a new website.

NCA sought to upgrade their website to the new version of GovCMS and decided that they also needed a full review of the content, Information architecture, design and direction. Icon’s services included user testing, UX, UI and development of the website in GovCMS SAAS.

Our team went through a rigorous process of testing and design to create a user-first website to highlight the national capital and bring to life the great events and attractions that the area has to offer, and also highlight the key user needs required for the site that were more functional.
It was imperative that the website design struck a balance between displaying and navigating different content types while migrating existing content automatically.

Icon Agency used a thorough testing process to work out the best way to display content. By going through this thorough process, we were able to create a new intuitive IA which balanced the functional requirements but also highlighted the great events, attractions and resources the NCA offers.

We worked closely with the stakeholders to retain only relevant content types and cleaned up legacy content. Extensive content mapping led to ensuring content types are easily understood and managed.

The result of Icon’s thoroughness is a creative, modern website with a great design and updated functionality. Importantly, the backend editing experience has improved tremendously thanks to fewer content types and optimised functionalities for content creation and maintenance.
