Kinetic Super website
Web design & UX for Kinetic Super

Website, PR and TOV for Kinetic Super

A category-defining website that represented their brand energy and philosophy of innovation

A website
designed
for growth

Icon was engaged by Kinetic Super to rebuild their website from the ground up after successfully winning their public relations account. The existing site had limited functionality for managers to update content, and the user experience was complex and confusing. Kinetic also wanted a fully customised CMS that could grow with their needs rather than being locked into an off-the-shelf product.

You say
you want
a revolution?

Kinetic Super wanted a category-defining website that represented their brand energy and philosophy of innovation and marketing-leading client service. Icon and Kinetic’s marcomms team stripped away the noise, created an easy-to-use content architecture, and simplified the site’s messaging. Numerous navigation prototypes were designed and tested before settling on a modern and engaging interface that drew on a mobile-first approach.

Using an agile
approach to building
a leading-class website

Kinetic Super wanted to run the project using an Agile development approach. This gave our team space to design and test multiple UX/UI approaches, and to refine the final design throughout the build. Functionality was also built around ongoing design and page behaviour requirements, rather than having every aspect of the build scoped up front.

Designed with
speed, ease and
flexibility in mind

Built from the ground up using the Laravel PHP framework, Kinetic Super’s CMS is designed for speed, ease of use and maximum flexibility. Like the site’s great design, it’s everything you want in a CMS with the bloat removed. The CMS is designed as a site builder, and every aspect of it can be manipulated and edited via a sophisticated block approach. A library of buttons, icons, concertinas and content styles gives editors the power to build new pages without breaking the design rules.

The site is also fully responsive and works just as well on mobile as it does on desktops. In fact, the global navigation approach was designed from a mobile-first perspective. The end result? A site that looks and feels nothing like you’d expect from a leading superannuation provider.

Kinetic Super’s cutting edge website triumphed over 172 other entries from around the world by taking home the Best in Class Award for 'Financial Services' at the annual Interactive Media Awards 2015.
